InTime tracking sat still for a week

My spring purchase was a 116520 from InTime, paid to Ryan by bank transfer in the EUR 420 to 470 band. I order twice a year and report both the dull ones and the awkward ones, so here is a mostly dull order that briefly looked awkward. Payment was acknowledged on 6 March, photographs arrived on the 11th and I approved the next morning after requesting a view of the clasp.

A tracking number followed on 14 March. For seven days it showed only that information had been received. I asked Ryan whether the parcel had actually been handed over. His first reply repeated the number, which was not especially illuminating. The second said it was awaiting the first physical scan. On 22 March the record finally changed, and the watch reached Cluj on 30 March.

The chronograph starts and resets properly in the few checks I have made. I have not left it running for hours simply to prove a point. The bracelet needed adjustment and there was a little adhesive on the case back, otherwise the arrival was uneventful. I cannot establish precisely where the parcel spent the quiet week, and neither can anyone looking only at the same public page. My complaint is the unhelpful first answer, not evidence that a number was invented. Total time from payment to arrival was twenty-four days. That is longer than my last order, but still an actual completed delivery.

I work with parcel records and that first status can cover several situations. It is not proof of a handover, and a missing scan is not proof of the opposite either. I would have asked the same question you did. Repeating the number feels particularly pointless when the customer has already quoted it.

I care more about the gap between the label and the first physical event than the optimistic estimate beside it. Your dates are useful because they separate those things. I have seen perfectly ordinary goods sit with an unhelpful public record too. Glad yours ended with a watch rather than another week of refreshing.
