Trusty Time packaging, January order

Greek customs means I have learned patience, and also that what the parcel looks like matters more than people think, mostly for whether the watch arrives undamaged after a long trip.

Ordered a Datejust 126234, silver dial, from Trusty Time on 2 January. Price in the 420 to 470 EUR band. Bank transfer. QC on 9 January, approved without changes. Shipped 10 January, arrived Thessaloniki 27 January after nine days in customs, released without a letter or duties.

Packaging: the watch was in a plain padded pouch, with protective film on the caseback and clasp, and a small foam block around the head. No box, no papers, no branded anything, which is what I asked for. The outer parcel was a soft padded envelope, and that was the weak point. One corner was crushed and the foam inside had been pushed down. The watch was fine, but with a bit less luck the crown could have taken the impact.

Overall I am happy. The watch is good, the date changes cleanly at midnight, and the bracelet is solid. Next time I will ask for a small rigid box inside the envelope. Has anyone asked Andrew for that and been told yes or no?

Soft envelopes go through the small parcel sorters, which is where the corners get crushed. Anything rigid enough to need a box often goes through a different line and is handled more gently. Worth asking for.

I asked in September and Andrew put the watch in a small card box inside the envelope with no fuss. Ask at the time of ordering, not after QC.

Nine days in Greek customs and no letter is a good result. In Budapest, recently, anything held more than a week has ended with a letter for me.
