Trusty Time payment methods, what was offered to me

Card payments or nothing for me. Rant incoming. I contacted Trusty Time on 18 November about a Submariner 126613LB, two-tone, price in the 500 to 560 EUR band. Andrew was quick and polite. Then I asked to pay by card and was told card was not available for that order, only bank transfer or crypto. I asked why. The answer was that card payments get reversed too often and it is not worth the trouble for them.

I understand that from their side. But from my side, card is my only protection. A transfer goes and is gone. I am not going to learn crypto to buy a watch. So I have not ordered, and I am posting this because nobody seems to say clearly which dealers actually accept cards, now, in 2025, rather than three years ago.

I asked whether there was any way to pay by card and was told maybe in the future. That is not an answer.

If anyone has paid any of the approved dealers by card in the last few months, please say so. Not rumours, actual experience.

For what it is worth, the reason card is rare is not peculiar to Trusty Time. A card payment can be disputed for months afterwards, and the merchant account behind it can be closed with little warning. Any small seller in a grey area will avoid it. I would not expect it to change.

Four dealers, never once paid by card. Transfer every time. The protection is the dealer’s reputation and the reports here, which is why the reports matter.

Nobody has offered me card in the last year either. Andrew was clear and quick about what he does accept, which is more than some.
